Version 4.4 of the MailChimp add-on has been released and can be downloaded via automatic update or the add-on page.
This release adds support for tags within your MailChimp contacts.
MailChimp Contact Tags
What are MailChimp contact tags? Simply put, they're a way to better organize your mailing list subscribers by attaching various labels to them.
If you have a large MailChimp subscriber list, tags can be critical. For example, if you have a form on your site where you ask multiple other qualifying questions about the mailing list subscriber, you could pass that field data along to MailChimp as various tags on that individual. Using tags in this way would allow you to better tailor your content to your audience.

Hey Gravity Forms Peeps - really happy to see support for MailChimp tags as I have started to use these instead of groups for segmenting lists. Is there anything on your roadmap that would allow for conditional functionality to be applied with tags, for example when someone makes a choice using radio buttons then different tags could be set for each of those choices? I think this would be game-changing functionality but that, of course, is just my opinion 🙂 Thanks again.
I'll love to see the ability to update a subscriber on mailchimp, not just add one.
Updating members (subscribers) is already a built-in feature of the add-on. The way the add-on works is that it first checks if the supplied email address is on the list. If the email is on the list an update member request is made using the mapped field values. If the email address is not on the list then an add member request is made.
Can anyone help me? the forms was working. In my Mailchimp campaign which is setup and in Gravity forms is all after the person fills out my form then your are to get a email I instead get a subscribe email it is to go straight to the email and it is not doing that. I see tag in the Gravity forms mailchimp section on the form will that work, I did try it and it still did nothing. Right now I put everything back the way it was and ow I get nothing not email no subscribe nothing. I tried the form out in mailchimp test and it works. thanks for anyone who can help. I can send you screen shots by email if you can help.
